ABOUT THE EVENT

The one thing that can be agreed on about this enigmatic, often confounding artist is that at his core, he is an individual. John has always been obsessed with making his music, his way, regardless of any cultural norms that surround him. He may scorch a beat with a free-flowing 16 one moment, and sing his heart out on a slow, cinematic heartbreak ballad the next. What you see is usually not what you get with Mr. Lonely.

John started his musical career under a myriad of aliases, trying on a bunch of different hats before settling with the name “Wiley Coyote”, a stage name which he had performed under since 2014. He released his first project under this alias in 2016, and over the next few years of his career, he busily dropped song after song, project after project, until suddenly, at the end of 2018, he stopped. After vanishing under the radar for a few months, he came back, with a completely new identity and approach to music. He branded himself as John Alone, and the rest is history.    Since his rebirth, John has released a number of successful singles, including the irresistible "Sunny Skies", the earnest "Don't Let Me Down", and "Jane" a heartbreakingly frank ballad dedicated to sincere young love. In the summer of 2020, he released his debut project under the new alias, titled "Babel! (Aka Johnny Social's Collectivist Manifesto)", which was peppered with features from some of the brightest sparks that exist within the burgeoning underground London rap scene. This included the likes of Virgil Hawkins, Len, Vice, Yusef Slim and many many others. The project was described by 108mics.com in a full length review as a "triumph for British underground music". Since this project, John has released three more projects (Spanish Blue, African English, Scared Money Pt.1) and has been featured on several publications, including Clash Magazine, Dummy, Mixtape Madness, GRMDAILY, BBC 1XTRA, among others. Catch him at Lonelyworld 001.
